Why apple-green and brown ring together?

Why brown fumes on heating?
Decomposition of nitrate to NO₂.
Why BaSO₄ with dilute H₂SO₄?
Barium salts + sulphate ions ppt BaSO₄. Not a carbonate test.
Why K₂CrO₄?
Confirmatory for barium in Group V.
Why freshly prepared FeSO₄?
Brown ring fails with oxidised ferrous sulphate.
